Bob do you think inflation and interest rates are causing the recent downturn in the market. You would think the market would have all this factored in?

Bob Brinker's avatar

Yes, I think the rise in longer term rates are having an impact. I also think the market was due for some consolidation of the gains off the October low.

Is there an update available on Megnachip, symbol MX. The deal to take MX private by Wise Road Capital in 2021 was not completed. Recently MX announced the company plans to split into two separate business units. DH

Hi DH,

Nothing new on MX other than the plan to run the company as two divisions (for sale?) and a new $50MM buyback which represents about 15% of shares at current prices. Phone market been in the doldrums for awhile now.

Thanks, bob

Is there a possibility of Bob showing us t three different portfolios that he had in his newsletter back in the day?

Randy Cole's avatar

OK I see, my iPad clipped it from the bottom of the page and put it on the top of the next page. Was hiding under the header

Your Dad had had subscribers in VFSTX in the June 2023 issue of marketTimer 20% . Vangard converts to Admiral shares (VFSUX)

Bob Brinker's avatar

Correct. VFSTX is still there.

Randy Cole's avatar

Don’t know if you noticed but VFSTX missing from your newsletter

Bob Brinker's avatar

But I just looked and I see it there at the bottom of portfolio iii

what do you see?

Randy Cole's avatar

Did you stop following VFSUX in portfolio three

Bob Brinker's avatar

Perhaps you mean VFSTX -- the only diff here is the 'admiral' vs 'investor' share class @ vanguard. Use 'admiral' if you meet the min requirements.

Bob Brinker's avatar

Hi Randy,

I don't see VFSUX in portfolio three. Can you elaborate?

thanks, bob
